Mark Davis doesn’t seem like one to hold back when feeling betrayed by his fellow NFL owners. After being blocked from a bid for the Oakland Raiders, he took heat on twitter and in interviews with reporters before finally getting fed up and walking away.
Mark Davis, the owner of the Oakland Raiders, has recently thrown shade at Rich Bisaccia as the team is awarded Super Bowl LVIII in 2024. This comes after Bisaccia was hired by the Raiders in 2018 to be their new head coach.
In the midst of a disastrous season, things have been difficult around the Las Vegas Raiders organization. The Raiders fell from 3-0 to a fringe playoff candidate when Jon Gruden was dismissed and Henry Ruggs was released after his arrest. They did, however, get some good news when it was announced that the Raiders would host Super Bowl LVIII in 2024 at Allegiant Stadium. Although this is a huge thing for the team, owner Davis, Mark made some curious remarks that looked to be aimed at interim head coach Rich Bisaccia.
In 2024, the Raiders will host Super Bowl LVIII at Allegiant Stadium.
It ultimately came to pass. The news was made on Wednesday, and the Raiders’ owner made a statement at what is an exciting moment for the team and the community.
The chance to host the Super Bowl is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and the Raiders’ choice to relocate from Oakland to Las Vegas seems to be paying off.
The NFL Draft and the Pro Bowl will both be held in Las Vegas in 2022, but nothing compares to the Super Bowl.
Davis walked up to the stage with a big grin on his face, and why not? The Super Bowl’s arrival in Las Vegas is a major opportunity, and it’s one of the many reasons why relocating to Sin City made sense.
However, Davis made some more eye-opening remarks, including one on the team’s present state (h/t Vic Tafur of The Athletic).
“It’s wonderful to win off the field when you’re not winning on the field.”

Yikes. What is it if not a dig at Bisaccia and the Raiders of 2021?
That isn’t exactly a glowing recommendation for your group. The Raiders have sunk to 6-7 on the season after a 3-0 start, including another blowout at the hands of the Kansas City Chiefs.
They still have a chance to reach the playoffs, but the product hasn’t been very good on the field. Is this solely Bisaccia’s fault? Probably not, but it’s hurting his chances of remaining around at the end of the season.
This remark also has something to say about Davis. Despite calls from supporters for him to sell the club, he is unlikely to do so anytime soon.

Now, taking over as head coach in the middle of the season is hard. It’s considerably more tough to take over a squad in Bisaccia’s condition. Nonetheless, he has managed to pull it off and come out on top.
The squad on the field, on the other hand, has often failed to compete. Despite an overtime win against the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day, the Raiders have looked lost and bewildered on the field. They’ve lost five of their last six games, all of which have seen them score fewer than 20 points.
Apart from Hunter Renfrow, Derek Carr doesn’t have a consistent pass-catcher, Darren Waller has lost time, and the defense has been abysmal.
Bisaccia hasn’t done himself any favors, and his latest statements suggest that he may not be the best candidate for the post.
It’s becoming more likely that Davis will hunt for a new head coach in Las Vegas, particularly if things continue to go as they have.
