In the year 1995, a player by the name of Stephen Curry was drafted by the Charlotte Hornets. He didn’t make much of an impact as a rookie and was traded to the Golden State Warriors in 1998.
The stephen curry jumpshot 2k21 is a story about the 3-point king, Stephen Curry. Curry was 5 foot 10 and his jump shot looked ugly but he was able to shoot over anyone.
There were 74,822 three-point attempts in the NBA in the 2020-21 season. Despite the fact that it was just a 72-game season, it was the second-most all-time, behind only 2018-19. Threes are clearly more common today than they have ever been. However, during the 1987-88 season, when Stephen Curry, the all-time great shooter, was born, a Denver Nuggets guard named Michael Adams was shooting threes like no one had ever seen.

After the Sacramento Kings selected Adams 66th overall in the 1985 NBA Draft, there was little cause for celebration. After his first two professional seasons, there was even less enthusiasm.
The former Boston College star spent his rookie season on the bench before getting released at the end of the season. Adams subsequently joined the Washington Bullets, and although playing more than 20 minutes each night, he was just a minor point scorer. The 5-foot-10 guard was already on his third club before his third season, when Washington sent him to the Nuggets after obtaining Hall of Famer Bernard King.
Doug Moe was Denver’s head coach at the time. The former ABA All-Star was known for his run-and-gun style of play, which resulted in a lot of points via screens and ball movement. Moe gave him free license to let it fly given that he had a young and fast guard like Adams at his disposal.
Adams became the league’s leading three-point shooter.
Adams made 102 three-pointers for an average of 1.6 per game in his second NBA season. He also only hit 27.5 percent of them. The 5-10 Adams, on the other hand, transformed into a totally different player in his first season under Moe.
As the Nuggets’ starting point guard, Adams attempted 379 three-pointers and improved his three-point percentage to 36.7 percent. Despite playing on a club that promoted high-octane offense, Adams took 288 more three-pointers than the next-highest Nugget, Mike Evans. But it was only the start for the Hartford, Connecticut native, who went on to lead the league in three-pointers for the following three seasons, with 466, 432, and a league-high 564 in 1990-91.
Adams gained a household name during the 1990-91 season. The 28-year-old, who is known for his trademark and unorthodox push shot, averaged a career-high 26.5 points per game. Michael Jordan, Karl Malone, Bernard King, Charles Barkley, and Patrick Ewing were the only players to average more points. As a result, former third-round pick Dominique Wilkins, Chris Mullin, and David Robinson scored higher than future Hall of Famers Dominique Wilkins, Chris Mullin, and David Robinson.
Adams’ finest game was against the Milwaukee Bucks on March 23, 1991. The shooter scored 54 points in an overtime thriller by going 7-for-16 from three-point range. He and Alex English are tied for the second-most points scored in a game in Nuggets history, behind only David Thompson’s 73.
Adams was a key figure in the three-point revolution.
Adams’ career was never the same after his finest season. In 1991, the three-point king was returned to the Bullets in exchange for the eighth overall selection in the draft. While he did make the All-Star squad in Washington that season, his 18.5 points were a significant decrease from the previous year. Each year, his overall score statistics would fall.
Adams retired from the NBA as one of the all-time leaders in three-point attempts and made. He also had a streak of 79 games in a row with at least one three-point field goal. Curry currently holds the record, having hit a three in 157 consecutive games from 2014 to 2016.
Threes started to soar around the time Adams was at his prime, long before Stephen Curry was in the NBA. There were 8,913 three-pointers made in the NBA before he arrived in Denver. There were 15,812 fans in 1990-91, his last season with Moe and the Nuggets. In his last season, 1995-96, the NBA witnessed over 38,000 three-point tries.
Adams is mostly forgotten in NBA history, although this isn’t the case. Before it was popular, the guy with the weird shot was shooting a lot of three-pointers and making a lot of them. If Adams’ peak had lasted just a few more years, he would undoubtedly be remembered as one of the game’s most famous long-range shooters.
Basketball Reference provided all statistics.
Stephen Curry may be known as “the Baby-Faced Assassin,” but he still feels insecure on the court: ‘Right before training camp, I become nervous.’
The who does steph curry play for is a question that has been asked many times. Stephen Curry was born in 1988, which means he’s only 5-foot-10 and played basketball before the 3-point line existed.
