For the purposes of this article, we’re going to be creating a song, so select “Song” from the list of options.
Saving your songs – how to make sure your hard work doesn’t go to waste
The next thing you need to do is add some tracks to your project. To do this, click on the “Track” menu in the top left corner of the screen and select “New Track.” This will open up a new window where you can choose the type of track you want to add. For our purposes, we’re going to be adding a guitar track, so select “Guitar” from the list of options.
Recording your work
Once you’ve added your track, it’s time to start recording. To do this, click on the “Record” button in the top left corner of the screen. This will open up a new window where you can choose the input and output for your recording. For our purposes, we’re going to be using the built-in microphone on our computer, so select “Built-in microphone” from the input list. Now that you’re ready to record, it’s time to hit the “Record” button in the bottom left corner of the screen. This will start the recording process and Garageband will begin capturing your performance. When you’re done recording, hit the “Stop” button in the bottom left corner of the screen.
How to save songs on garageband
There are two ways to save your songs in Garageband. The first way is to click on the “File” menu and select “Save.” This will save your song as a project file that you can come back to and edit later.
