The game is set in the distant future, where humanity has been taken over by robots and we need to fight back. When a robot crashes near your home, you know it’s only a matter of time before they come for you too.
The “retro forge games” is a retro-inspired sidescroller that will be coming out in spring 2022. It was created by the creators of Retro-Inspired Sidescroller Souldiers and it is expected to be a hit.
Retro Forge Games and Dear Villagers are collaborating up to develop Souldiers in Spring 2022, combining MetroidVania exploration, Soulslike combat, and precise platforming.
Players will take on the role of a scout, caster, or archer and fight for independence in the mysterious region of Terragaya. Players will outsmart adversaries, solve riddles, enhance their characters, and explore the tsi 16-bit universe along the way.

Retro Forge’s creative director, Alberto Hernández, says:
“Retro Forge arose from a passion for all things vintage and nostalgic. Souldiers is a personal homage to the games that we all grew up with. I can’t wait to show it to more people!”

The game will be released on the Nintendo Switch and PC.
