As you may have noticed, YouTube recently updated its look. This new layout, which is still in beta, moves the video description down below the related videos section, and also includes a number of other small changes. While some people like the new layout, others prefer the old one. If you’re in the latter camp, there’s good news: you can revert back to the old layout without having to install any third-party software. To do this, simply head to YouTube and sign in (if you’re not already signed in). Then, click on your profile picture in the top-right corner of the screen and select “Restore old YouTube.” This will take you back to the old YouTube layout. If you ever want to go back to the new layout, simply repeat the process and select “Use new YouTube.” Alternatively, you can also just wait a few weeks – YouTube has said that the new layout will eventually become the default for all users.
How to revert youtube layout
Open an Incognito window in your browser (this is different from simply being signed out of YouTube – you’ll need to open a separate, Incognito browsing window). To do this in Chrome, click the three dots in the top-right corner of the browser and select “New Incognito Window.” In Firefox, click the three bars in the top-right corner of the browser and select “New Private Window.” In Microsoft Edge, click the three dots in the top-right corner of the browser and select “New InPrivate Window.” Sign in to YouTube. Once you’ve opened an Incognito window, head to YouTube.com and sign in with your Google account (if you’re not already signed in). Revert to the old YouTube layout. Once you’ve signed in, click on your profile picture in the top-right corner of the screen and select “Restore old YouTube.” This will take you back to the old YouTube layout. Use the old YouTube layout. You can now use YouTube as you normally would. The only difference is that you’ll be using the old layout instead of the new one. If you ever want to go back to the new layout, simply repeat the process and select “Use new YouTube.” Alternatively, you can also just wait a few weeks – YouTube has said that the new layout will eventually become the default for all users.
Right-click on the video you want to watch and select “Copy embed code”
Paste the code into a text editor and look for the “feature=oembed” parameter. Change the “o” to an “e”, so it reads “feature=embed”. Copy the modified code and paste it into your browser’s address bar. Hit Enter to load the page. The video will now play in the old YouTube layout. You can do this for any video on YouTube, not just the ones you’ve uploaded yourself. Keep in mind that this method only works if you’re using the latest version of your browser. If you’re not, you’ll need to update your browser before trying this method. If you’re not signed in, you’ll be prompted to sign in when you try to revert to the old layout. Once you’ve signed in, click on your profile picture in the top-right corner of the screen and select “Restore old YouTube.” If you’re not using the latest version of your browser, you’ll need to update it before trying this method. You can usually do this by clicking the “Update” or “Check for updates” button in your browser’s Settings menu. Once you’ve updated your browser, try reverting to the old layout again. This time, it should work. YouTube has said that the new layout will eventually become the default for all users.
