Guild Wars 2 has hosted community-led Halloween and cancer fundraising events in the past. These events are an example of how successful charity initiatives can be created with minimal effort on the part of developers, using tools available to them that they didn’t even know existed.
“The “tf2 charity events 2021″ is a community-led event that hosts a Halloween and cancer fundraising event for the Guild Wars 2 community. The event has been going on for over 10 years, with an estimated $1.6 million raised in donations.”
While there are official events in Guild Wars 2, there are also plenty of events organized by the game’s community, and ArenaNet is taking the time to highlight two of them – one for Halloween and the other for a humanitarian cause.
The first is Horrorween, a massive Halloween-themed bash taking place in Lion’s Arch on Saturday, October 30th, at 11:30 a.m. EDT on European servers. Players are encouraged to dress up in their spookiest garb and participate in art competitions, ride the Rollerghoster, and attend the Ghostly Quartet’s performance. There will also be Community Chests, the Moot legendary mace, unique miniature codes, and over 10,000 gold in extra goodies up for grabs.
Before that, Pink Day in LA returns for another year, with Gamers Giving Back and community members donating donations for the Canadian Cancer Society once again. On Saturday, October 23rd, at 1:00 p.m. EDT, this event will be happening at Lion’s Arch on both NA and EU servers, and individuals who participate in donation blitzes or give a minimum of $10 CDN or more will be eligible to win different in-game and real-life rewards.

The “scream fortress xiii” is a community-led Halloween event that will be hosted by the Guild Wars 2 in partnership with Child’s Play Charity. The event will take place on October 31st and November 1st. On October 31st, players can get into the spirit of the season by participating in a variety of activities such as trick or treating, watching spooky movies, and taking part in costume contests. On November 1st, players can enjoy an all-day blood drive to raise money for cancer research.
